Hoyt Monroe Williams, Jr., 87, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence. A son of the late Hoyt M. Williams Sr. and Mary Rich Williams, he was born April 25, 1928 in Horry County. A funeral service with military honors, officiated by Rev. Ted Sherrill, will take place at First Baptist Church in Georgetown on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11am. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Williams was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and an International Paper retiree. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his free time hunting, fishing, and spending time with his beloved family. Surviving are: his wife of 64 years, Betty Fenters Williams; two sons, Hoyt M. Williams III “Spike” (Kay) and George Richard “Ricky” Williams (Janet), both of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Scott Williams (Meg) of Georgetown, Michael Williams (Alicia) of Murrells Inlet, Angela Williams Wilson (Glenn) of Georgetown, and Lindsey Williams Cox (Ryan) of Georgetown; six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice at 2591 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440 or First Baptist Church at 219 Cleland Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
