William “Kam” Amaker, 63, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He was born June 18, 1952 in Conway, South Carolina. He was a son of the late Dwight Roland Amaker and Emma Margaret Owens Amaker. Mr. Amaker loved to be out on the water. He was a captain and engineer on numerous commercial fishing vessels from the Northeast all the way to Uruguay for all of his professional life. Surviving are: one son, Justin Amaker of Minnesota; one sister, Ann Kaminskas (Judd) of Georgetown; one brother, Bobby Amaker formally of Georgetown; a life-long friend, Lennie Cusack; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Saint Frances Animal Center at 125 Ridge Street, Georgetown, South Carolina 29440. Arrangements by Graham Funeral Home.
