Obituary of Edward "Roland" Thomas

Mr. Edward “Roland” Thomas, 70, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Peter Roland Thomas and Vernie Inez Lambert Thomas. He was born June 23, 1944 in Georgetown. A funeral service with military honors will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11am at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6pm-8pm at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow at Lambert Cemetery. Mr. Thomas was a devoted member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church who loved hunting, fishing, and traveling to the mountains. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed walking and riding his bike. Surviving are: his wife Lavinia Thomas; two daughters, Suzanne Wheeler (Billy) of Manning and Joy Smith (Charles) of Georgetown; two sons, Shaun Thomas and Dr. Edward Scott (Charity), both of Georgetown; one sister, Barbara Wilson (Stanley) of Georgetown; three brothers, Wayne Thomas (Martha), Bobby Ray Thomas (Anne), and Ronnie Thomas, all of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, Angel Howard, Melanie Thomas, Seth Thomas, Dustin Thomas, Eric Lambert, Brooke Skipper, Cheyanne Wheeler, Gavin Smith, Madalynn Smith, and Jonah Thomas; six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
