Bobbie Jo Smith Pangburn, 79, wife of Richard A. “Dick” Pangburn, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on June 25, 1935, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Bob Smith and the late Jo Ferdon Smith. Mrs. Pangburn was a member of Herbert United Methodist Church, the L.M. Bunn Sunday School class, Annie Lou Mosley Circle and the Young at Heart group. She was a United States Navy Veteran and was a retired lab technician. Mrs. Pangburn enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; two sons, Richard A. Pangburn, II of Summerville and Scott C. Pangburn (Phyllis) of Dudley, NC; two grandchildren, Allan C. Pangburn of Lancaster and Khandis M. Stokes (Daniel) of Kittrell, NC; and three great grandchildren, Peter J. Stokes, Andrew T. Stokes and Elijah Z. Stokes. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Quinn Smith and Lynn Howell. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Herbert United Methodist Church with Rev. Marie Nuckles officiating. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Herbert United Methodist Church, 84 Forest Ave. Georgetown, SC 29440 or to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
