Obituary of Robert A. Ackerman

Robert A. “Bobby” Ackerman, 73, passed away on October 11, 2014 at Azalea Woods Nursing Home in Aiken. Born on January 3, 1941, in Williamsburg County, he was a son of the late Army Dewey “Daud” Ackerman and the late Nonie Elliott Elliott. Mr. Ackerman was a retired commercial fisherman and enjoyed shooting pool, gardening and yard work. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include his companion, Shirley R. Clark of Andrews; one daughter, Tammy Rochelle (Rocky) of Hobucken, NC; three grandchildren, Nicky Gray (Jeff) of Georgetown, Lori Leugers of Andrews and Brian Ackerman of Georgetown; three great grandchildren, Carly Gray, Jaxon Gray and Aubrey Jones; one sister, Shirley Lambert of Andrews; four half brothers, James Elliott (Elease) of Andrews, Don Elliott (Jackie) of Georgetown, Felder Elliott (Martha) of Bonneau and Steve Elliott (Judi) of Rockhill; one special brother in law, Leo Bass of Augusta; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Ackerman and Micky Ackerman; one brother, Dewey Ackerman; and two sisters, Faye Ackerman and Odessa Bass. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 13, 2014 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Chamblee officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
